In this hybrid role, you will report to our Head of Fleet Response.

You will:

  • Contribute to Operations Center initiatives by defining scope, implementing processes, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead a team of full-time employees covering 24/7 operations handling high-severity events, monitoring resolution quality, and iterating on improvements.
  • Working with internal safety and product teams to roadmap tooling, process and people enablement to improve event resolution.
  • Manage long-term Operations Center vendor strategies, including budgets, invoices, cost forecasting, contracts, and service level agreements.
  • Develop strategies to prevent or minimize impact of high-risk events, analyze ongoing vendor partnership needs, and present recommendations to influence senior leadership and internal partners.
  • Be accountable for operations by coordinating with vendor contacts to track and ensure successful execution on contract terms regarding resourcing, quality, and delivery of services to meet Waymo's needs.
  • Improve vendor selection and overall vendor operations strategies to support Waymo's goals and long-term plans by sourcing new partners, expanding service offerings, and leading contract negotiations.
  • Deploy vendor-specific infrastructure, including security and tools needed to achieve service level agreements.
  • Host internal business reviews and collaborate with global teams to improve key metrics.

You have:

  • 10+ years with program/vendor management in operations, strategy, and planning.
  • 5+ years leading 24/7 operations related to emergency response, incident management or high-risk event mitigation.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Experience leveraging project management best practices and tools.

We prefer:

  • 8+ years experience executing multiple vendor partnerships for a single operation.
  • 8+ years experience leading outsourcing engagements, experience scaling outsourcing engagements and bringing immature operations to maturity.
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location, during the hiring process. 

Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements. 

Salary Range
$180,000—$227,000 USD
