This role follows a hybrid work schedule and reports to the Head of Infrastructure Strategy.
Build Demand Models: Own and develop data-driven demand models for Waymo infrastructure that maximize business value while aligning cross-functionally on operational constraints.
Apply Advanced Analytics: Use linear programming, stochastic modeling, simulations, and other optimization tools to derive high-impact business recommendations.
Develop Buffer Strategies: Architect and implement buffer strategies tailored to different infrastructure types to ensure fleet resilience.
Drive Continuous Improvement: Conduct rigorous variance analysis to address key gaps and drive ongoing improvements in overall plan quality.
Publish Infrastructure Plans: Generate and publish high-quality demand plans broken down by specific infrastructure categories.
Lead Demand Reviews: Own the demand review cadence and create the associated content necessary to facilitate cross-functional alignment on global plans.
Quantitative Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Finance, or an MBA/Master’s in Operations Research or a related technical field.
Forecasting Expertise: 6+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or complex modeling roles.
Financial Acumen: Proven experience deriving strategic business recommendations through deep quantitative data analysis and modeling.
Advanced Office Suite: Modeling-level proficiency in Excel or equivalent spreadsheet software.
Programming Mastery: Proficiency in SQL (specifically BigQuery) and Python for data manipulation and analysis.
Optimization Toolset: Hands-on experience with Google OR-Tools (CP-SAT solver), Gurobi, or similar mathematical optimization software.
Visual Storytelling: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate data into compelling narratives via PowerPoint or Google Slides.
Anaplan Proficiency: Direct experience building and managing complex models within the Anaplan platform.
EV Infrastructure Planning: Specific experience planning for electric vehicle (EV) fleet needs, such as charging stations, service centers, and parking logistics.
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
