The Waymo Safety team works to promote and help to continuously improve the safety of Waymo's fully autonomous driving technology. Our experts develop safety goals and strategies, and conduct safety engineering analyses to ensure safety is being considered throughout the design and development of our vehicles. The team develops and promotes safety strategies and policies for autonomous vehicles for its work with regulatory authorities, lawmakers, law enforcement and public and non-profit organizations.

In this role you will be hybrid based in Tokyo and report into our Head of Resilience and Incident Management.

You will / 業務内容

  • Be a native Japanese speaker, also proficient in English. / 日本語を母語とし、英語にも堪能であること
  • Establish and maintain primary contact with Emergency Services at management and executive levels in current and future areas of operation. / 現在および将来のオペレーション領域において、管理職および経営幹部レベルの緊急サービスとの主な連絡窓口を確立し、維持します。
  • Design, present, and certify additional Emergency Services Ambassadors (ESAs) and Emergency Services stakeholders on Waymo's mission, technology, and industry concerns. / Waymo の使命、テクノロジー、業界の懸念事項について、追加の緊急サービス アンバサダー(ESA)および緊急サービス関係者の設計、提示、認定を行います。

  • Represent Waymo at Emergency Services events, panels, and industry events. / 緊急サービス イベント、パネル ディスカッション、業界イベントで Waymo を代表します。

You have / 必須条件:

  • 10+ years of service in Japan’s emergency services (Police, Fire & Rescue, or Ambulance Service) / 日本の緊急サービス(警察、消防および救助、または救急サービス)での 10 年以上の勤務経験
  • Deep understanding of Japan’s legal frameworks, emergency protocols, and community engagement strategies. / 日本の法的枠組み、緊急時対応プロトコル、コミュニティ関与戦略に関する深い理解
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences. / 多様な聴衆を惹きつけることのできる、優れたコミュニケーション能力およびプレゼンテーション能力
  • A strong understanding of the specific nuances and sensitivities of Emergency Services communities in Japan. / 日本の緊急サービス コミュニティ特有のニュアンスや配慮を深く理解していること
  • The ability to establish and maintain a professional presence at executive and command staff levels. / 経営幹部および指揮スタッフレベルにおいて、専門的な信頼関係を確立し、維持できる能力
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with legal and other internal teams. / 協調的な姿勢を有し、法務チームやその他の社内チームと効果的に連携できる能力

 

We prefer / 歓迎条件:

  • At least 7 years in a leadership or management position within one of Japan’s principal emergency services. / 日本の主要な緊急サービス機関のいずれかにおいて、指導的立場または管理職として少なくとも 7 年の実務経験
  • Experience establishing organizational presence in new geographic locations. / 新しい地域において組織のプレゼンスを確立した経験
  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle technology and its implications for emergency services. / 自動運転車技術およびそれが緊急サービスに与える影響に関する知識
  • A track record of policy development related to emergency management. / 緊急事態管理に関する政策立案の実績
  • Experience in a role requiring significant public speaking and stakeholder engagement. / 重要な公の場での発言や利害関係者との関与を必要とする職務の経験
  • Experience working in rapidly scaling and complex operational environments. / 急速に拡大する複雑な運用環境での業務経験

 

 Travel Requirements / 出張要件:

  • ~20% travel (Domestic & International) / 約 20% の出張(国内および海外)
