Waymo's Systems Engineering team works together to blend software and hardware systems in groundbreaking new ways. We set the high performance standards that ensure our vehicles run smoothly and keep passengers safe, then design and perform the tests that validate that performance. We're looking for talented teammates who’ll help us maintain strong teamwork and are passionate about driving results.
You will:
- Own central tools and processes for Systems Engineering artifacts/documentation, including its Requirements and Tests management systems. Ensure high reliability and scalable operation of tooling infrastructure for Systems Engineering central tools
- Develop new tools and infrastructure to improve the rigor, efficiency, and quality of Waymo’s Systems Engineering activities
- Ensure robust, efficiency, and rigorous processes for the management of Waymos requirements, verification, and validation artifacts
- Direct activities of a vendor based DevOps team supporting Systems Engineering processes and tools including JIRA
- Own development and maintenance of custom features deployed in JIRA
- Improve business intelligence capabilities delivering insights on the contents and status of Waymo's Systems Engineering requirements and tests
You have:
- Proactive, organized, and good collaboration skills
- Bachelor and/or Master's degree in a relevant engineering or a related field (including SWE, ME, EE, CS, Robotics, Controls, Aerospace, etc.) or equivalent practical experience
- Experience deploying and maintaining developer, systems engineering, and/or testing tools
- Experience building and maintaing engineering processes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
We prefer:
- C++/Python/SQL software development skills and experience
- Experience deploying and maintaing JIRA deployment including with custom extensions
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering fundamentals and best practices
- Experience deploying and maintaining data pipelines, particularly in support of business intelligence or internal tooling and processes
The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level.
