Waymo's Compute Team is tasked with a critical and exciting mission: We deliver the compute platform responsible for running the fully autonomous vehicle's software stack. To achieve our mission, we architect and create high-performance custom silicon; we develop system-level compute architectures that push the boundaries of performance, power, and latency; and we collaborate closely with many other teammates to ensure we design and optimize hardware and software for maximum performance. We are a multidisciplinary team seeking curious and talented teammates to work on one of the world's highest performance automotive compute platforms.

In this hybrid role, you'll report to a Hardware Engineering Manager.

In this role, you'll:

• Execute test plans for silicon bring-up, validation and characterization in the lab
• Build and execute test plans for system level validation
• Perform electrical validation for high-speed and low-speed IOs
• Collaborate with teams, including silicon and system HW/SW, to ensure validation execution
• Document validation procedure and results in technical reports

At a minimum we'd like you to have:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent years of experience
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in silicon bring-up and validation
• Proficiency with lab equipment and debug tools, such as oscilloscope, protocol analyzer, JTAG debugger, etc
• Good skills in creating technical reports and documentations
• Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and cross-site teams

It's preferred if you have:

• Experience in system level validation planning and execution
• Experience in electrical validation and compliance test for IO interfaces
• Good scripting skills for test automation, data collection
• Experience in pre-silicon DV or emulation
