As the Senior Technology Integrator for the Waymo Security Operations Center (SOC), you will be the dedicated technical owner for SOC-specific applications and the primary integration expert for all systems that power our 24/7 global security operations. Reporting to the Head of the Waymo Security Operations Center, you will translate the SOC's unique operational needs into technical solutions. Your primary focus is ensuring the SOC's complex technology ecosystem is reliable, integrated, and optimized to support its critical, real-time mission.

You will:

  • Serve as the primary technical owner for SOC-dedicated applications (e.g., mass notification, incident management) and as the lead integration subject matter expert for enterprise security systems utilized by the SOC, such as access control and VMS.
  • Manage the lifecycle of SOC technology projects, from requirements gathering and vendor evaluation to implementation, testing, and operational handoff.
  • Establish and govern technical standards for the SOC, including leading root cause analysis investigations for system failures and implementing corrective actions to ensure operational resilience.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive library of SOC specific systems and applications including technical documentation (architecture, APIs, troubleshooting guides) to be used for operational training and support.
  • Serve as a key technical advisor to the enterprise IT and Physical Security Systems team, providing operational insights and acting as the SOC's representative for new technology projects.
  • Conduct market research on emerging SOC technologies, attend industry events, and draft proposals to enhance operational effectiveness and automate manual processes.
  • You will travel up to 10% as needed to meet business objectives.

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a technical role with deep, hands-on experience administering and integrating enterprise-level physical security systems within a GSOC or similar 24/7 command center.
  • Specific expertise with the operational use and integration of SOC platforms, including VMS, mass notification, and radio/dispatch systems, as well as a deep understanding of enterprise access control and credential management systems from an end-user perspective.
  • A strong understanding of the core IT and networking principles that underpin physical security systems (TCP/IP, VLANs, server administration, etc.).
  • A demonstrated ability to translate complex operational needs into clear technical specifications and project plans.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders and experience briefing senior leaders on technical issues.

We prefer:

  • Experience in a role that required close collaboration with both corporate IT and physical security departments.
  • Experience with security systems vendor management, including reviewing statements of work (SOWs) and holding vendors accountable for technical deliverables.
  • Experience leveraging automation, scripting, or AI-driven analytics to enhance physical security monitoring and reduce manual operator tasks.
  • A proven track record of managing technical projects from conception to completion, including requirements gathering, testing, and stakeholder communication.
