Waymo's supply chain and manufacturing teams are making the cars of the future a reality. We handle all production processes and supplier development strategies: from contracts and purchasing, to designs for improved manufacturing, through quality control and delivery. We collaborate actively with Waymo engineering teams as well as external suppliers and partners to make sure everything is built to spec and delivered on time to meet the rising demands of our business. This role will report to the Director of Supply Chain Planning and Logistics.

You will:

  • Standardize best practices across the team for material planning, CTB management, risk mitigation, and executive-level reporting.
  • Ensure timely production schedules, adequate output quantities, proper allocation and efficient shipments to meet business requirements. Address demand-related issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Manage the Supply Chain Materials Budget, End Of Life activities 
  • Develop predictive models to support strategic decision-making and achieve supply/demand objectives.
  • Identify risks such as Excess & Obsolete (E&O) materials, provide actionable recommendations, and spearhead mitigation initiatives.
  • Construct and present regular material status updates and program reviews for executives, emphasizing risk status and strategic summaries.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including Supply & Demand Planning and Global Supply Managers, to define Weeks of Supply strategies and optimize supply chain performance.
  • Represent the materials organization in executive forums, driving alignment and decision-making
  • Guide, develop, and mentor the Materials Program Management team, establishing clear priorities and performance targets that align with organizational goals.

You have:

  • Ability to define and execute multi-year materials strategy aligned to vehicle platform and financial impact.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field. 
  • 15+ years of experience in materials planning, supply chain, manufacturing operations, or procurement
  • Demonstrated success leading and scaling teams of Materials Program Managers
  • Experience operating at global scale, supporting multi-region suppliers and contract manufacturers
  • Proven ownership of end-to-end materials strategy across multiple programs, product lines, or manufacturing partners
  • Deep expertise in Clear-to-Build (CTB) processes
  • Advanced analytical and modeling skills (Excel/Sheets required; SQL, dashboards, or automation tools preferred)

  • MBA is a plus.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements. 

Salary Range
$238,000—$294,000 USD
