In this hybrid role, you will report into our Head of Culture, Diversity & People Development.

You will:

Strategic Leadership & Execution

  • Portfolio Strategy: Oversee and ensure the success of multiple large-scale development programs simultaneously, ensuring each has significant scope and measurable impact.
  • Organizational Growth: Set up the organization and Waymo overall to grow by simplifying interfaces between teams and processes.
  • Strategic Decision Making: Own budget responsibilities and make high-level decisions regarding program trade-offs to ensure the highest ROI for the business.
  • Alignment: Partner across the HR organization to ensure seamless, streamlined, and relevant client support that reflects the "Waymo Way".

Program Design, Content & Quality

  • Innovative Design: Develop and lead innovative approaches and strategies to address and overcome organizational barriers.
  • Needs Analysis: Partner with internal clients to assess developmental needs, perform gap analyses, and design leadership and management programs that provide critical capabilities.
  • Scalability: Invent approaches for delivering scalable leadership development programs that can grow with the company.
  • Excellence in Delivery: Manage a team of training specialists to facilitate the delivery of continuous improvements across all learning initiatives.

Collaboration & Influence

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and influence collaborations with other internal training organizations, leveraging multidisciplinary expertise to solve problems holistically.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop forward-thinking ideas and articulate new approaches to stakeholders to drive the people development roadmap.
  • Mentorship: Grow future leaders by mentoring staff and helping them develop within their roles at Waymo.

You have:

  • Expert Leadership: Proven experience managing a team of training specialists and overseeing complex, simultaneous project portfolios.
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to identify priorities, own project scoping, and find necessary resources to execute high-level training work.
  • Multidisciplinary Expertise: Deep knowledge across several training areas with the ability to partner effectively across a global HR organization.
  • Business Acumen: Experience aligning learning strategies with business constraints and long-term objectives.
  • L&D Innovation: A track record of inventing scalable approaches for leadership development and integrating best practices into a high-growth environment.

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the role location or, if the role can be performed remote, the specific salary range for your preferred location, during the hiring process. 

Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements. 

Salary Range
$226,000—$286,000 USD
