You will:

  • Analyze financial data and ensure that all financial activity has been properly recorded and reconciled. Duties include: 
  • Review account reconciliations and recommend improvements based on business requirements;
  • Perform month-end close financial and accounting processes; 
  • Coordinate multiple Financial Statement transactions at each monthly close cycle end-to-end;
  • Design operational processes based on business needs; 
  • Provide a number of viable options to solve problems identified from the capitalization process;
  • Identify control gaps / improvements in vehicle capitalization; 
  • Drive specific control processes including preparation of monthly journal entries and corresponding reconciliations, as well as review of contractual agreements; 
  • Ensure that the company is in full compliance with all tax and local entity requirements;
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Supply Chain, FP&A, BSE, and tax, to provide accounting guidance on business initiatives and new transactions; 
  • Identify and resolve complex technical accounting issues quickly & accurately; 
  • Advise on financial reports required by government regulations; Review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports; and 
  • Work cross-functionally with stakeholders and partner with internal teams to define, establish, and implement accounting systems, processes, and procedures.

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field and four years of work experience in the job offered or in an accounting-related occupation. 
  • Position requires a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and four years of experience in the following: 
  • Preparing balance sheets and income statements and performing financial audits under Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP);
  • Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and cash flow statement preparation; 
  • Inventory-to-cost accounting cycles including standard costing and inventory reserve;
  • Inventory, fixed assets, and lease accounting (ASC 842); 
  • Creating and evaluating financial internal controls and SOX compliance frameworks;
  • SAP Cloud software;
  • Performing accounting research, creating technical accounting memos, and identifying misstatements and enhancing reporting accuracy and integrity; and
  • Utilizing advanced data analytics and Microsoft Excel tools including Pivot Tables and VLookup.

 

The expected base salary range for this full-time position across US locations is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.

Salary Range
$152,152 - $160,000 USD
 
Position reports to the Waymo Mountain View, CA office and may allow for partial telecommuting.
