Hardware Engineering is a diverse, innovative, and collaborative group of electrical, mechanical, reliability, software and vehicle engineers. We design, build, and perfect the products which are the eyes and ears of Waymo's autonomous driving technology, and integrate those products into vehicle platforms. We're seeking curious and talented teammates to keep us moving in the right direction.
In this role you'll:
- Develop SW for test stations to test and characterize board level, subassembly level and system level HW
- Collaborate with Development and Hardware Test Engineering to support troubleshooting of PCBAs, subassemblies and systems
- Work with Waymo’s Tool and Infrastructure SWEs to optimize the software infrastructure for linking with CM’s manufacturing software systems
- Develop SW tools for data analysis
- Collaborate with HW Test Engineering to bring up and to maintain testers worldwide
At a minimum, we'd like you to have:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering , Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experiences
- 3+ years of experience in software development
- Strong experience in Python software development
- Strong experience in computer networking
- Strong experience in Linux environment
It's preferred if you have:
- Experience in embedded software development
- Experience in board level circuit testing and troubleshooting
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- International experience, particularly in Asia and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% of the time
